Jim Wann Hosts new TV
Series, Farmers’ Almanac
Television
Jim Wann, who is best known as
the writer, composer and star of the 1982 Tony Award-nominated
Broadway musical, “Pump
Boys and Dinettes,” is the front man for the television
series, “Farmers’ Almanac TV,” which began
airing on public television stations across America in April
of 2006.
“Jim is one of the warmest, most personable talents
I have ever worked with,” said Renee Bishop, the executive
producer of Farmers’ Almanac TV, who has over twenty
years experience in television production, including credits
for productions with Showtime Original Pictures, A&E,
The Learning Channel, Lifetime and NBC.
Wann has achieved phenomenal
success throughout his career with both Broadway and Off-
Broadway hits, such as “Pump
Boys,” “King Mackerel & The Blues are Running,” which
enjoyed highly-acclaimed success at the Kennedy Center, and “Diamond
Studs: The Life Of Jesse James, A Saloon Musical,” notable
for creating “Musicians’ Theatre” as a
genre.
He also co-wrote “The People vs. Mona,” a musical
mystery screwball comedy, with Patricia Miller, which premiered
at the Pasadena Playhouse in 2000 and was nominated for Best
Music by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP. Wann has appeared
on “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “The
Tony Awards,” and his own “Pump Boys Dinettes” NBC
TV Special.
