| Farmers' Almanac TV - Oh So Close to Being on the Air! |
 |
|
We recently received word of the Public Television
markets that our series, "Farmers' Almanac TV" will
be playing in over the course of the next year. Some
markets will begin airing us this Spring and then
depending on how programmers see us fitting into
their schedules, we should appear in more cities over
the balance of the year.

| Riding A Polar Coaster |
 |
|
On record, is January the coldest month of the year
or is it February? In the Northern Hemisphere,
January is usually the coldest month of the year. In
the Southern Hemisphere, January is the warmest
month of the year. However, this January's weather
seems to be... well let's say odd. According to the
2006 Farmers' Almanac, the winter would be a "polar
coaster" with lots of ups and downs on the
thermometer. It seems like many of us might be on
the upswing of that coaster, but you just never
know what's around the corner.
And what's up with the rain on the New Year's
Tournament of Roses Parade in California! Did you
know that the Farmers' Almanac had warned parade
goers to bring an umbrella to the parade? And that
was the first time in
50 years that it rained on the
Roses Parade!! Add another one to the Farmers'
Almanac success records.
So when will some of us see snow? Click here to find your zone and see
what we're predicting!! Then hang on for an
interesting winter Polar Coaster ride.

| Handy Hints from The Farm |
 |
|
- Are you watching calories for a New Year's
Resolution? How would you like something healthy to
munch on? Rinse a can of chick peas (garbonzo), pat
them dry and place on a cookie sheet. Bake them
for an hour at 325 degrees. Then
season and enjoy a healthy snack.
- Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into
ice cubes for future use in casseroles and
sauces.
- A dish of fresh ground coffee in the refrigerator
can eliminate unpleasant odors.
- Make a fertilizer spreader do double duty. Use it
this winter to scatter sand on icy walk-ways.
- To prevent silver from tarnishing, keep a piece of
aluminum foil in the silverware drawer.
- Here's a good facial mask that cleans the pores
of oil and dead skin. Crush 3 tablespoons of raw
oatmeal and mix it with lemon juice. Stir into a paste
and apply it to the face for 20 minutes. Scrub off
with warm water.
