| Happy Groundhog's Day! |
 |
|
February 2nd is Groundhog's Day and as you know, if
the groundhog sees its shadow, we should expect 6
more weeks of winter, and if it doesn't, winter is over
and we should expect milder conditions. But did you
know that there are other animals that have similar
weather predicting ability?

Shadow or not, animal weather prediction aside,
what does the Farmers' Almanac predict for the
month of February? Is February going to be the
month for snow and cold temperatures as suggested
by many rumors weÌve been hearing? Well after
JanuaryÌs ups and downs on the thermometer
(appropriately dubbed as a ÏPolar CoasterÓ winter by
the FarmersÌ Almanac Editors) February looks to see
near-to-below normal temperatures will be returning
to the eastern US. According to FarmersÌ Almanac
Weather Prognosticator Caleb Weatherbee, ÏIn a
typical winter, we get pattern changes about every
six weeks, so we're about due.Ó
As for snow, the Farmers' Almanac is predicting an
active end to February. Click here for more weather
predictions and information from the Farmers'
Almanac.

| The Art of Kissing a Woman in 1896 |
 |
|
Don't peck a woman on the forehead or the
end of the nose, or jerk at her bonnet strings in
haste to get through.
Do take the left of the hand of the young lady in
your right; let go of your hat, just let
it drop.
Throw your left hand over the lady's
shoulder and let it fall down to her waist.
Draw her
gently and lovingly to your heart.
Don't be in a
hurry. Her left hand is in your right... clasp it firmly,
gently, and with thought and respect.
Don't be in a
hurry. Her head lies on your shoulder.
Look into her
half-closed eyes. Lean forward with your head, not
your body.
Take a good aim... the lips meet... the
eyes close... the heart opens...
And once again, don't be in a
hurry!
The heart forgets all bitterness, and the
imcomparable art of kissing is learned!
